Building Bridges Leadership Academy

The Building Bridges Leadership Academy (BBLA) is designed for adult allies (18+ and out of high school) who are interested in volunteering for Confluence Rising's (formerly CC youth programs and who would like to build foundational skills for social justice facilitation rooted in restorative values. Young adults interested in becoming Youth Mentors must attend this program to be eligible to return to camp.

**PLEASE NOTE: High school students interested in becoming Youth Leaders for Building Bridges Camps must attend the Summer Youth Leadership Institute (SYLI), a separate program.**

This dynamic 3-session training provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills that are needed when working with any of our youth programs. This includes strategies, techniques, tools and opportunities for trying on facilitation. It is particularly suited for volunteers who will be attending the Building Bridges Camp and other Confluence Rising programs.

Here is what a participant can expect:
• Exploration of oppression and social justice, including topics specific to racial justice and gender justice
• Community building & interactive learning
• Dialogue and facilitation practice
• Resources and reference materials
• Overview of our Building Bridges for Youth Programs and volunteer opportunities.

*Must attend all 3 days to complete the training!*

Cost: *The total cost of the training is $100. There is a sliding scale "pay what you can option" that ranges from $5-$75 to make this training accessible. We encourage you to be reflective and honest with your access to resources when considering what to pay.
