VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT (She/Her/Hers)

Sarah is proud to find funding, share stories and bring people together around Confluence Rising’s powerful work as Vice President of Development. Before leading fundraising efforts, Sarah led Transforming Together, the team responsible for adult training, coaching & conflict facilitation for 7 years by stewarding, strengthening, and expanding partnerships with organizations, workplaces and schools invested in equity and restorative justice. 

Sarah strives to embody anti-racist, intersectional, queer leadership, and has over 15 years of experience facilitating cross-cultural dialogue. Sarah has led programming internationally with over 100 organizations, over 10,000 participants including youth and adults, and more than 30 week-long residential sessions of the ANYTOWN® program, an interactive summer experience for high school youth. She was instrumental in launching Confluence Rising’s Equity & Justice Service Menu, Uproot & Emerge Conflict Facilitation program, and Community Connection Decks. 

Sarah became a certified facilitator of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens curriculum in 2011, a national Life Entrepreneurship (now LEAD) trainer in 2015, and a Courageous Conversations about Race (CCAR) Affiliate Practitioner in 2018. She was also a New Leaders Council (NLC) Tampa Bay Fellow in 2014, served on the local NLC Board, and completed a term as the Vice Chair of the National NLC Diversity Committee. Her publications include “Creating Diverse & Inclusive Schools Through Relationship-Based, Anti-Oppressive Classrooms” in the Millennial Compact with America, and “Toward a Relevant Psychology of Prejudice: Linking Science & Practice to Develop Community Interventions” in The Cost of Racism for People of Color: Contextualizing Experiences of Discrimination. 

What excites her most about her work at Confluence Rising is the opportunity to support others in living more aligned with their values. Sarah is an authentic, bold, interdependent creative, reader and gamer who lives in Long Beach with her partner and rescue dog Callie Faye!
